    The FCA identifies Tradeweb Europe Limited, firm reference number 193705, as the genuine authorised firm. Its warning explicitly says that firm has no connection with the clone. The allegation concerns Trademaker and the clone contact details, not Tradeweb Europe Limited.

    A copied reference number is not authorisation

    The regulator explains that clones can combine false details with genuine details of authorised firms. Match the website and use the contact details held in the regulator’s register when checking an approach. Do not assume that a reference number supplied by the caller authenticates the caller.
